Each of the 5-conductor strips snap into the blue base board. There are also red and black rail conductors. The base board can be extended. The 5-c "assembling blocks" and base board are available in a variety of vibrant colors.
Here it is with an Arduino 5V Trinket wired (*) to an Adafruit MPC4725 DAC. Here is the full kit with "extractor", classic Radio Shack proto-board, and Arduino Uno SMD.

What I like:
- The conductor can be placed vertically or horizontally (e.g., the Vout and ground buses bottom right).
- The conductors could be color coded or marked.
- You only use the discrete nodes you need which I think make the presentation clearer.
- Small, cheap footprint so you can deploy circuits more readily.
* Yes, I swapped the SDA and SDC pins as I was going from memory.
